South West Londoner

While I studied towards an NCTJ qualification (National Council for the Training of Journalists), I had a weekly placement with online news publication South West Londoner.

I wrote weekly content for them for about three months, and later made a piece of multimedia longform journalism for their website.

Scroll down to explore some of that.

The longform digital feature I made for South West Londoner is called Wow! Have you lost weight? It explores why weight-loss compliments are problematic through writing, infographics, images, soundbites and a video interview.

Here’s an example of news that I wrote for South West Londoner. It’s a long data-based analysis of SUV ownership in south-west London (particularly Kensington and Chelsea) and the impact this has on the environment and other road users.

Here’s another news example: Speed limits don’t apply to cyclists in Richmond Park.

Here’s a final example of news I wrote for South West Londoner, this time about a street party happening at Battersea Power Station to celebrate the opening of the new nearby tube station.

Here’s the review I wrote for South West Londoner, about an absurdist take on Little Women. It’s titled, Review: Figs in Wigs’ Little Wimmin is ridiculous, confusing and hilarious.

Here is the video I created for South West Londoner about the Clapham Book Festival:
